This 18th century cherrywood side chair, dating to around 1790 in Austria, features a solid cherrywood frame carefully restored to good condition. The piece was originally created during the reign of Emperor Joseph II, son of Empress Maria Theresia. Recently upholstered in a noble green fabric showcasing floral patterns, the chair combines elegance with craft. Its simple yet artistically shaped backrest is accented with ebonized elements, creating a striking silhouette. Hand-carved legs and a traditional hand-polished shellac finish complete the chair's classic late 18th century Josephinism style. This chair exemplifies fine cherrywood furniture from this Austrian period and reflects meticulous restoration work.
