This 19th Century Black Forest wall mirror from Austria, dating to around 1880, is a striking example of rustic craft. The mirror is hand-carved from fine basswood featuring a distinctive double frame with protruding corners designed to mimic tree trunks. A central top carving presents an intricately detailed coat of arms encircled by foliage, emphasizing its artistic mastery. The mirror has been fully restored to excellent condition, with a renewed mirror plate and a dark brown stain that nearly appears black, enhancing its bold and rustic charm.
