The 19th century nutwood commode exemplifies Biedermeier craftsmanship from Austria around 1845. This nutwood commode, also known as a trumeau, features a compact and clean design with a walnut veneered surface polished to a radiant finish with honey-shellac. Supported by short, simple legs, it has a large drawer and a lockable two-door front displaying the distinctive "Pretzel" motif on its brass key blades.
