This 19th century nutwood wall mirror from Austria exemplifies the Biedermeier style popular around 1840. Crafted with a spruce wood substructure and veneered with thick nutwood, it displays an attractive and distinctive grain pattern. The frame features a straight shape with slightly chamfered edges, enhanced by veneering even on the outer borders. The mirror plate was replaced during restoration, and the entire piece was hand polished with shellac to renew its surface. The backside is sealed with cardboard and includes an iron ring for simple wall mounting. This mirror demonstrates the refined charm typical of the Biedermeier period, combining elegant craftsmanship and practical design in excellent condition.
