This 19th Century rustic Tramp Art mirror originates from Austria and was hand carved from basswood around 1870. The mirror features a dark brown stain and retains excellent original condition. Its distinctive element is the double frame, decorated with carved bars on the outer side. The main frame exhibits intricate chip carvings arranged in a pyramid pattern, typical of Tramp Art style, making it a unique rural wall mirror. The mirror glass plate has been renewed during a restoration that also included refinishing the surface. A metal clamp on the back facilitates easy wall mounting. Overall, this rustic Tramp Art mirror blends folk craftsmanship with utilitarian design.
