This 19th century marquetry chest of drawers, dating circa 1870 from France, showcases exceptional craftsmanship in mahogany with cherry and nutwood detailing. The transitional style chest highlights intricate grid patterns rendered in maple wood and accented with small cherrywood dots, visible on both sides and the front. It features three spacious drawers, with the upper drawer framed by nutwood for added elegance. A unique beige-yellow marble top with pink and brown veins crowns the piece, complemented by brass fittings on feet and drawers, and beautifully designed pilasters. Its surface is preserved with a traditional polished shellac finish, emphasizing the luxurious and expertly restored condition of this exquisite storage furniture.
