20TH CENTURY, AUSTRIA, OAKWOOD DINING TABLE, EXTENDABLE

regular price $14,500.00
Subtotal: $14,500.00

This 20th century oakwood dining table, crafted around 1905 in Austria, exemplifies early Art Nouveau style with its timeless, modern design by Josef Hoffmann. Hoffmann, a notable Austrian architect and founder of the Wiener Werkstaette, created this extendable table featuring straight, clean lines. The oakwood tabletop rests on four solid square columns, supported by an aluminium covered base. The table extends from 47 inches to 87.2 inches in just 30 seconds, comfortably seating 8 to 10 people. Despite its age of over 120 years, the table remains in great restored condition with only minor warping visible on the left side of the tabletop. This piece reflects Hoffmann's visionary approach to furniture design, balancing aesthetic beauty with functionality.
