This gilt 19th century wall mirror originates from Austria circa 1840 and features notable stucco works and softly rounded corners. The mirror's frame showcases floral stucco decorations combined with silver plated half rods that have minor abrasion, reflecting its age and history. Restoration preserved the original patina while renewing the mirror glass, as the original was no longer visible. The frame employs traditional gilt techniques including composition gold and gold leaf, emphasizing the craftsmanship typical of the Biedermeier period. Its structure is softwood based, and the back is sealed with old cardboard, equipped with a hand-forged ring for easy wall mounting. This mirror can be used in either vertical or horizontal orientation, providing flexible decorative appeal. The excellent restoration highlights the mirror's enduring elegance and historical value within 19th century Austrian furnishings.
