They are small and don't take away from the look. There is a small chip on the jar's inner mouth rim. There are wear marks on the jar from usage. There are manufacture flaws like bubbles and lines in the base. The rubber seal is a bit warped and hard, and does not attach to either to the lid or the base. It does rest well between the lid and the base and keep the two from scratching or chipping each other, as well as keeps most air out of the interior
